Becky's Chocolate Chip Cookies

This recipe comes from my good friend, Becky. She is moving out of our neighborhood in a few weeks and I am so sad! She is a great cook, and this cookie recipe is no exception. She has some specific tips to make these cookies turn out just right, so I will add those in at the end. You will love these chocolatey delights.

Becky's Chocolate Chip Cookie's

1 Cup Butter, softened
1/2 Cup White Sugar
1 1/2 Cups brown Sugar
2 Eggs
2 1/2 tsp. Vanilla
2 1/2 Cups Flour
3/4 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Baking Powder
2 1/2 Cups Chocolate Chips {I use Guittard semi-sweet}

In a medium bowl, mix together the butter and sugars by hand with a wooden spoon. Add in the eggs and the vanilla & mix. Add dry ingredients and mix until combined. Add chocolate chips and stir. Line baking sheet with parchment paper and drop spoonfuls of dough on sheet. Bake @ 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes, being careful not to overbake.

***Becky's tips:
This is a recipe that needs to be done all by hand mixing.
The chocolate chips should be frozen when they are added to the dough.
For the flour, its 2 1/2 cups MOUNDED. If you want to level it off, use 3 cups.
Don't overbake. You want them to be slightly under-baked.

  1. I love chocolate chip cookies. It would be hard for me not to use my electric mixer though. I don't know if I'm strong enough. :)
