Perfect Corn-on-the-Cob

This comes from the "Favorites" cookbook.  I think this method makes boiled corn taste so great!   Boiled, grilled or roasted, corn-on-the-cob is one of my favorite summer foods!

4-5 quarts water
1/4 teaspoon sugar
1 lemon wedge
6 ears corn, husked and rinsed

**Never, ever put salt into boiling water--it will toughen your corn!

Add sugar to water.  Squeeze juice from lemon wedge into water and drop in wedge.  Bring water to boil and add corn.  Boil 8 to 10 minutes, depending on kernel size.

Then I love to drench it in butter (so unhealthy but so yummy) then sprinkle with salt and pepper...or you could spread mayo on it then sprinkle cheese and chili powder like Nacho Libre.

Richard had BBQ Chicken with this meal.  What a great combo for summer!  I love cooking with veggies in the summer because produce is so fresh and cheap, and you can buy local.
