Hekka

I forgot to take a picture, so I will add it later. This recipe is from my friend, Lori. It is a very healthy meal and her young kids still love it. Spencer and I tried it last night and it is delicious.

INGRDIENTS:

1 lb ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
---
2 cups grated carrots
2 cups shredded cabbage
2 cups chopped celery
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
1/4-1/2 cup sugar (optional)
---
1 can drained water chestnuts
1 can chop suey veggies

Fry the meat and onion together and drain. Put them in a large kettle and add the next 7 ingredients. Simmer for 25 minutes. Just before serving add the water chestnuts and chop suey veggies.

Serve over rice.

  1. This sounds good too--I think I'll try making the veggies and meat separate and see if it turns out.
