It's not always a masterpiece

Last night I made our favorite chocolate chip cookies to enjoy as our FHE treat. The first 2 batches came out great. Delicious, soft, chocolaty heaven. The third batch...not so great! We had a glitch with the timer and ended up leaving the batch in the oven for about 30-40 minutes instead of the 9 minutes which create perfection. Oops! Gardiner pulled them out of the oven for me and stuck them on the back porch so that the house wouldn't smell quite so bad. Shortly thereafter it began to rain really hard and so when I finally went to check on the cookies this is what I found. Not very appetizing is it? ;-)

  1. I thought they were hamburger patties @ first glance!

  2. It is so nice to know that I'm not the only one that does things like that! Thanks for sharing your mistakes as well as your success!

  3. My family calls it the "Last Batch Phenomenon." Something always makes them burn and leaves a yuckty smell in your house instead of that nice homey aroma.
